Kalashnikov TR3 semi-automatic carbine / Saiga AK-12

Kalashnikov TR3 semi-automatic carbine, which was originally known as “Saiga AK-12”, is the latest semi-automatic rifle from Kalashnikov group, intended for civilian sales. It is based on the newest 5.45mm Kalashnikov AK-12 assault rifle and its 7.62mm AK-15 version, which were adopted by Russian army and entered mass production in Izhevsk in 2018. Unlike its military prototype, Kalashnikov TR3 carbine is semi-automatic only, and cannot fire bursts; it is also fitted by a trigger block which does not permit firing with shoulder stock folded, a feature mandated by Russian “weapons law”. Like its parent, Kalashnikov TR3 is available in two calibers, 7.62×39 and 5.45×39.

New features of AK TR-3 increase the classic AK rifles’ ergonomics and fire accuracy, while keeping the reliability of the original system.
